Registration for the 2018 baseball season has come to an end. Thank you to all of the parents who registered. We look forward to seeing your children on the field!
There has been a rule change for bats in youth baseball. USA Baseball, the national governing body for the sport of baseball in the United States, has released a new method for measuring bat performance. Starting this season, all Little League players are required to use a youth baseball bat with the USA Baseball certified logo (shown here). Umpires will be checking bats, so make sure your child has the correct type of bat for this season!
Our league was established in 1967 as an instructional baseball program open to boys and girls (league age 4-12) living in the City of Sparks and Spanish Springs area of Washoe County. (Please see below for general boundary guidelines.) Our goal is to teach Sparks youth the importance of sportsmanship, value, integrity and functioning as a team in a fun and competitive environment. Most practices and games are played at the Shadow Mountain Sparks Complex and Golden Eagle Regional Park. Some Major and Minor games will be played in Lemmon Valley at the Lemmon Valley Park.
New this year, we will have interleague play with Centennial Little League which provides more competition for Major and Minor players.
Sparks National Little League Boundaries are in Sparks, for those residing West of Sparks Blvd. and North of La Posada. Our boundaries also extend to I-395 in Sparks just past El Rancho. If you are not sure if your in our boundary go to littleleague.org/play-little-league/league-finder/ and see what your local league is!
